Versie Nora Lockhart entered her life a blessing from God on January 30, 1963, to the late O.B. and Elizabeth "Liz" Lockhart in Marianna, Arkansas.
Surrounded by her sisters, Versie entered into the presence of the Lord on November 18, 2025, where she will ever be encumbered by the cares of this world.
Versie confessed her belief in Christ at an early age at the Bethelhem Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna, AR. After leaving Marianna and arriving in Pine Bluff, she changed her membership to Community Missionary Baptist Church now known as New Community Church under the leadership of Apostle Patrick Lockett, Sr. She loved her church and its family. She attended Sunday School faithfully and sang with the choir until her health failed.
Versie attended schools in Marianna and graduated at Lee Senior High School with the class of 1982 and had a close relationship with the class of 1983. After high school she traveled to Pine Bluff and attended cosmetology school, later becoming a licensed cosmetologist.
Versie loved working with her clients and they loved her. Versie's work journey began with Trammells Beauty Salon, Jessie Pearl Jackson, Martha's Beauty (Marks I) with Martha Thomas, and last with Sonja Bell at Danielle's Beauty Salon.
Versie is preceded in death by her parents: O.B. and Elizabeth Lockhart, brother: Ervin Crawford, nieces: Tanisha A. Kitchens and Constance N. Larry.
She leaves to cherish her memories sisters: Alethea Hill and Joyce Larry of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Verleen (Jim Jim) Craigen of Memphis, Tennessee, Shirley Crawford of Marianna, Arkansas, Aunt Magnolia Sigears, great niece Machaela Larry, and great nephew Malakhi Larry, nieces and nephews Charday (Demetrius) Roebuck, Tamika (Antonio) Washington, Shamise (Prince) Jones, Keith Robinson, sisters Debbie (Terry) Franklin, Kim Hytower Broadway, special friends/sisters Karen Nita (David) Wine, Joann Martin, Loretta Hill, Sharon (Linnie) Meadors Ware, Pam Golatt, and Benita Patillo McKnight. Versie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
