Remembering Her Life’s Journey

Verline Murray Goins was born June 13, 1946, in Tucker, Arkansas, the first-born daughter of the late Nebuchadnezzar and Rosetta Hines -Murray. Verline attended Wabbaseka-Tucker High School where she received her Diploma May 1964. Verline desired to further her education beyond high school and later enrolled in Pulaski Vocational Technical School and proceeded on to Arkansas Baptist College in pursuit of a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Verline accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at the age of sixteen under the leadership of Rev. Paul Nellums at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Gethsemane, Arkansas. Verline was married to the Late Leloyd Goins and to this union one child was born. She later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and joined Greater Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Author Blood. She served on the Usher Board and the Senior Ministry faithfully until her health declined.

Verline was a dedicated working mother and provider for her family and strived for excellence as an employee. She worked for the Little Rock Nursing Center 16 years starting as a CNA and was later promoted to Medical Records Clerk. Upon leaving the Little Rock Nursing Center, she worked for the Charles Bussey Child Development Center five years as Teacher Technician.

Verline had a great love for people. Along her life journey she adopted many bonus sons and daughters from all walks of life through her family and friends. Cooking was first her “All Time” favorite and what she enjoyed the most was sharing her great southern food with family and friends. Her second favorite hobby was crafting for all seasons, especially during the holidays and entering her masterpieces into contest.
