Thelma Pruitt

Thelma Pruitt was born June 29, 1932, to Othur Tanner Sr. and Louella Ross (both deceased). She was raised by her grandparents on the family farm along with her siblings. 
She later married Richard Pruitt (deceased), moved to Gould, and together they brought a beautiful daughter, Mary Pruitt- Harris (deceased) into the world. 

Thelma attended beauty college in Pine Bluff, graduated, and owned her own business as a beautician. She has always delighted herself and others with her cooking, such as those delicious buttered rolls and her cakes! Not only did she always have someone eating at her dining room table but she also had a passion and love for children. Thelma raised her niece Elizabeth Alexander (Tanner) from a baby and helped her husband raise his children. She became a foster parent and raised Deandre Amos and Jemisha Bell. 

Preceding her in death, husband: Richard Pruitt Sr., daughter: Mary Pruitt-Harris, stepchildren: Richard Pruitt Jr., Lodi Pruitt, Shelley Pruitt-Arnold, Grace Pruitt- Wade, stepmother: Pauline Tanner, brothers: Othur Tanner Jr., Theodore Tanner SR., Joseph Tanner, Alphonso Tanner, Wayne Tanner, D.A. Tanner, Odell Tanner, sisters: Maple Tanner,  Minnie Lee Tanner, and Sarah Tanner. 

Thelma leaves to cherish her memories, daughter: Elizabeth Alexander, stepson: Roy Pruitt, special niece: Linda Hall (Gerry), grandchildren she helped raise: Gregory Jones, LaToya King (Omar), Jamelia Roach and great-grandchildren: Gregory Alexander, Klohee Jones, and Kinidei Melcher. Brothers: Robert Tanner (Reola), Sammy Tanner, Na.pol eon Tanner, Carl Tanner, and Leo Madison (Joann). Sisters: Bertha Croome (Vance), Evelina Bradley (Salis), Betty Moore (Kevin), Gloria Faye Edwards (Lonzo), Teretha Tanner, Bernice Hosea, and Earnestine Tanner. A host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
