Brother Sylvester "Goat" Bridges was born March 14, 1947, in Gethsemane,
Arkansas to the late Brother Sammie Bridges and Sister Benola Strong Bridges Murry. He attended the Gethsemane and Wabbaseka School.
Brother Bridges confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E. J. Richardson.
On Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 12:15 a.m. he received a "Brand New" life, free from all suffering and pain, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
He was proceeded in death by his parents- Sammie Bridges, Benola Bridges Murry, his stepfather Effie Murry, sons Lamonte Bridges, Fernandus Bridges and Terrell Bridges, brothers- Robert Bridges, Lorenzo Bridges, Donald Murry, and Gerald Murry, sisters llene Bridges Crumpton, and Gladys Bridges Flowers.
Brother Sylvester leaves to cherish his memories his son- Anthony Bridges of Chicago, Illinois, daughter Monique Bridges of Chicago, Illinois, two brothers Anthony (Addie) Robinson of Cumby, Texas, Ronald (Eatarsha) Murry of Clarendon, Arkansas, four sisters Sharon Murry (Edward) Jefferson and Vanessa Murry Moore of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Gwendolyn Murry (Marshall) Handcock of Stuttgart, Arkansas, and Vetress Murry (Samuel, Sr.) Thompson of Wabbaseka, Arkansas, three Aunts Nettie Strong Dandridge of Chicago, Illinois, Vetress Boone Strong of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Essie Mae Strong of Gary, Indiana, four grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
