Steven Ray Carter

Mr. Steven Ray "The Mechanic" Carter, the third of five children of Arthur Lee Carter Sr. and Pearlean Herron Carter born on March 23, 1969 in the Shiloh Community in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He attended the Dollarway School District and graduated from Job Corps in San Marcos, TX with a Diploma in Carpentry.

Steven was baptized at Gospel Temple M.B. Church, in Pine Bluff,Arkansas, at an early age. Steven truly accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was incarcerated at the Tucker Prison Farm. His passion in life was breaking down and repairing car engines, transmissions, motors, etc. He could listen to a car, or ask you what sound it was making, and tell you exactly what was wrong with it. He was a self-taught mechanic. Steven worked for Tyson Foods, Ron Lusby's Service Station, Strickland's Upholstery Shop, West Tree Service, did Carpentry work, and loved helping people most of all.

The Loves of his life are his four children: Stephanie, Dalvin, Darius, and Damien; his four grand-daughters: Yazhana, Janiyrah, Arianna, and Ziah and one grandson: La'Darius.

Steven was preceded in death by his Great Grandmothers: Isadora Johnson Lowe and Mattie Ellis Carter; Great Grandfathers: Frank Lowe and William Carter, Sr.; Grandmothers: Paralee Lowe Herron York and Dorsia Holt Carter; Grandfathers: Joseph E. Herron Sr., William "Snapp" Carter Jr., and Levi York; Aunt: Carolyn Herron Terry Lancaster; Uncle: Arthur Lee York; Brother: Tony LaDell Campbell; Sister: Cassandra Faye Carter, and Nephew: Artoura Isiah Carter.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother: Pearlean Herron Carter of Pine Bluff, AR, his father: Arthur (Pearlean) Carter, Sr. of Kansas City, MO; one daughter: Stephanie Renee Carter of Little Rock, AR; three sons: Dalvin Carter and Damien Carter of Pine Bluff, AR, and Darius Carter of Texarkana, AR; three grand-daughters: Yazhana Carter, Janiyrah Lindsey, and Arianna Lindsey of Little Rock, AR; three sisters: Lorie Taylor and Doris Carter of Pine Bluff, AR and Chalon Daniel of Decater, GA; two brothers: Arthur (Lorraine) Carter, Jr. and Donnell (Jennifer) Carter, Sr. of Pine Bluff, AR; two aunts: Ann (fames) Stephens of Pine Bluff, AR and Joyce Carter of Sacramento, CA; Nieces: Cassandra Taylor, Sheena Burton, Shayla Whiteside, Angel Pree Carter, Doniqua Carter, and Shatora Carter; Nephews: Phillip Robinson, Artineze Carter, Jonathan Taylor, Donnell Carter Jr., and Jarvis Carter; Cousins: Tina (Gary) Green, Marquitta Terry, Tiara Terry, Derren Green, and Tiffany Simmons of Pine Bluff, AR and host of cousins, extended family, Best Friend/Brother Joseph "Peanut" Epperson and Mentor Vincent Edwards.
