Shirley Williamson Obituary

Mrs. Shirley Mae Whitmore-Williamson

As we retrace the footprints of Shirley Mae Whitmore-Williamson we can only give thanks for the many lives she touched and enriched along life's journey. A bold and self-confident woman; she was blessed to enjoy many of God's blessings as a child, a sister, a wife, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a friend, and most of all, a child of God.

She accepted Christ at an early age at the Mt. Bayou Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R.H. Atkinson. She remained a member of Mt. Bayou.

Shirley M. Whitmore-Williamson was born June 6, 1947, to Fred and Alice Pitts-Whitmore in Reed Lake, AR. She was a member of the graduating class of 1965 - Martin High School. After high school, her life journey would lead her to the workforce. She enjoyed working and was committed to raising her children and providing a nurturing home. She loved her family and enjoyed meeting new friends. No one was ever a stranger to her. Her employment journey included Timex, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites, and retiring from the University of Arkansas Little Rock. After retiring she spent quality time with her family providing guidance whenever she could. She will be missed for her loving spirit. Always forever in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alice Pitts-Whitmore, her husband, Moses. Williamson, her daughter, Tammy S. Williamson, brothers, Joe Pitts, Fred Whitmore, Charlie B. Whitmore, Lugene Whitmore, and Horace Piffins; sisters, Rosie L. Holmes, Christine Simpson, Susie Worsham, Mary Taylor, Erma Thomas, and Alice Robinson.
