Pauline Scott Obituary

HER LIFE & LEGACY

God delivered one of His most precious creations into the arms of the late Alfonzer and Manervia Golden-Caesar on Tuesday, April 27, 1937, in the Shady Grove Community near Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The couple named their beautiful daughter Pauline, the seventh of nine siblings.

Pauline attended school in Arkadelphia and was a brilliant and precocious child. Excelling in school, she skipped a grade and continued to grow in knowledge throughout her entire life. Pauline graduated from Peake High School in 1954 and became the Homecoming Queen of her graduating class. Later she met and married Virgle Lee Scott on Thursday, August 11, 1955, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and five children were born to this union.

At a young age, Pauline accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized. She was later filled with the Holy Spirit under the leadership of Elder O.N. Dennis at Tate Temple Church of God in Christ in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was a devoted Christian Woman and remained a faithful member of Tate Temple under the leadership of Superintendent Leroy Williams, where she served in many capacities for many years, including the usher board.

Pauline epitomized the role of a working mother, performing her duties at home and work with excellence. For over 20 years, she worked at Holiday Inn in Caddo Valley, then at Good Times Learning Academy, Central Arkansas Development Council Senior Activity Center, Apple Den Childcare Center, and the Arkansas Foster Grandparent Program. Never faltering in times of challenge, she inspired many with her wisdom, perspective, and perfectly timed moments of humor.

She was a very loyal friend, never met a stranger, and always gave a helping hand. She loved to read her bible, recite poems, and would talk for hours to any and everyone who would listen. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Pauline went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 20, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Alfred Caesar, Fred Caesar, and Wesley Caesar, and sisters, Lorene Hearn, Leaner Hearn, and Gracie Caesar.

Her memory and love will live in the hearts and minds of her children–Kathy Brooks, Paula (John) McNeal, Kenneth Scott, Brian (Marilyn) Scott, and Lecia (Johnnie) Whittie all of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; daughter-in-law–Margaret Scott of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; sisters–Morine Nelson and Katie Gibson of Sacramento, California; sister-in-law and lifelong best friend, Hattie Scott-Babb of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren–Shawna McKenzie, Porchia (Richard) Ross, Techia (Jeff) Thomas, Tannea (Jason) Nelson, Tameka Scott all of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Kenya(Timothy) Wilkes of Memphis, Tennessee; Tiffany McNeal of Little Rock, Arkansas; Ryan Whittie of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Jerrett (Michelle) Whittie of Waltham, Massachusetts; Jahishmah Whittie of Little Rock, Arkansas; Ariana Middleton of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Keyauna Scott of Monroe, Louisiana and Keneysha Scott of Pineville, Louisiana; great grand-children–Trinity Harrison, Jasolyn Nelson, Jayden McKenzie, Jayse Nelson, and Karmen Torrence all of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
