Future Mae (Stewart) Turner was born on May 3, 1925, to the union of the late Stedman McMurray and Mary Bufford in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
She was reared up by her late grandmother Lavina "Doll" Brown in Moscow, Arkansas.
Future better known as "Big Momma" received her formal education. Although "Big Momma" only received a fifth-grade education, she went on to further her education in beauty school.
At an early age, "Big Momma" accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was united with Solomon Hill Baptist Church formerly known as Parson Hill Baptist Church on Highway 15 South. She served on the mission society as well as a choir member and she was an avid soloist who received numerous invitations to sing at other churches and events. She moved her membership to New Town Baptist Church where she served as an usher. She later moved her membership to St Peter's Rock Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend Curry. After relocating to Mil-waukee, Wisconsin in 2004, Future immediately joined Greater St Luke Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Clarence Jones where she was assigned to the mother's board in 2005.
She believed that everyone should be saved and united with a church home and therefore often said this to her family and others she encountered. "Big Momma" loved the Lord with all her heart, and she was committed to serving Him.
Future Mae McMurray was united in holy matrimony with the late Eddie J. Stewart, Sr "Big Daddy" 1940 at the tender age of fifteen in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Their union was blessed with ten children, six girls and four boys. She later married the late John T. Turner.
Her work ethics began in the cotton fields then moved on to house cleaning and after completing beauty school she performed manicures and pedicures and worked at Alan's Beauty Shop shampooing and coloring client's hair. She did all of this while raising her ten children. She was forced into retirement due to health issues. After retiring, "Big Momma" volunteered at the hospital, red cross, and Jenkin's Memorial Center and was known as the foster grandparent to all the disabled children there.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing, ceramic making, arts and crafts as well as making leather belts and purses. She joined the Eastern Star organization and sang with the Do-Re-Me Singers.
