Deacon Lawrence Henry Polk was born to Addison Polk and Christine (Edwards) Polk on January 12, 1952 in Tarry, Arkansas. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Lawrence’s favorite scripture was Psalms 23 versus 1-6.
Lawrence attended Star City Public Schools in Star City Arkansas. He worked for the Railroad and City of Pine Bluff Street Department. He retired from Tyson Foods in 2013.
Lawrence enjoyed spending time with his family. He was very active in church on the Deacon Board, Choir and Usher Board. Of all the things people remember most about Lawrence outside of being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend was his kind and giving spirit. Lawrence gave of himself unselfishly to better the lives of people he loved and sometimes strangers. He was passionate about committing random acts of kindness.
Lawrence departed this life on Friday, July 31, 2020. He is preceded in death by his Father Addison Polk; Mother Christine (Edwards) Polk; Brothers Ervin Polk and Rufus Polk; Daughters Raquel Deshaun Polk and Trikela Shenise Polk.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His Lovely wife of thirty (30) years Linda Polk; Daughter Le’Tosha (Bryan) Lewis; Sons, Ryan (Melonie) Polk, Andrew Lawrence Polk, Two Stepsons; Keith Camp and Kenneth Camp. Fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, Three Brothers; Rev. Jimmy (Judy) Polk, Arthur Polk and Clarence (Wanda) Polk and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
