Mother Josephine Jackson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 6, 1925, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was preceded In death by her parents Will and Lillian Griffin, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters, her husband Willie E. Jackson of 54 years, and her oldest grandson Brandon Jackson.
Mother Jackson became a Christian as a young girl In Pine 8tuff, Arkansas, joining Allen Temple AME Church. She later joined Indiana Street Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her passing. She was a member of Sunday School Class #5, Deaconess, and previously a member of the kitchen committee.
Josephine Jackson and Willie Jackson wed on August 2, 1948. They were blessed to have four children: James Ronnie, Willie Ed. Jr, Wanda Faye, and Deborah(Debbie).
She was a graduate of Merrill High School. She was employed by Illinois Tool Works until retirement in April 1986. She was fondly, called "Mama Jo" by many who knew her.
Mother Jackson joined Centennial Baptist Church, now Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church under the tenure of Reverend S.B.Scott, and Reverend Dr. L. K. Solomon, Pastor Emeritus, where she remained a faithful member under the now leadership of Pastor Brian L. Castle.
She leaves to cherish, two sons- James Ronnie (Doris), of Kansas City, Kansas, and Willie Ed. Jr. (Carolyn), of Leesville, Louisiana; two daughter- Wanda Faye (Brad/Deceased), Kansas City, Kansas and Deborah (Rickey) Williams of Sherwood, Arkansas; one sister in law Rosetta Morson of Detroit, Michigan; one brother in law Ervin (Carolyn) Jackson of Hobbs, New Mexico; 9 grandchildren- Deona, Kourtney, Thomas, Zimbabwe, Ebony, Chemeka, Ricardo, Veronica, and LaTasha. 22 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great, Great Grandchildren.
She also leaves to cherish memories of a Special daughter, Evette Renee Britton; two Special nieces, Cecelia Ann Hooks, Jeanette Terrell, and a Special nephew Willie Griffin, Jr. also a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
