George Brown, Jr. was born October 25, 1932. He was the second child of five children born to the late George Brown, Sr. and the late Lee Rae Hall, in Wilkins, Arkansas (Jefferson County).
George received his elementary education at schools in Jefferson County and attended Merrill High School.
At the tender age of 17, George moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas in search of wok to support himself. He decided to make Pine Bluff his home town, and at an early age, began his new journey by finding work at construction sites. In 1955, he was blessed to find employment at S. H. Kree, a department store that sold various retail items at the corner of Fourth and Main Street in "Down Town" Pine Bluff. After 24 years of service, George decided to retire form S. H. Kress, but "not really retire". Other working families in community included: Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel, Pine Bluff School District, Planters Oil Mill, Pine Bluff Arsenal (construction) and Soltz Machinery, a Recycling Center. Between jobs, George also found time to pursue his passion of gardening, which became a "lifelong" passion. Each year of successful crops, his vegetables were enjoyed by all who were blessed to receive some of them. His benevolence to others was returned by nearby neighbors who also loved gardening. Affectionately called "Uncle Jr." by most of his nieces and nephews, George loved his family and community and his family and community love him.
George was a mild mannered, God fearing, quiet, sweet spirited man, whom always had a story to tell someone or wanted to know what was going on with you. You were sure to end up laughing about something he had said before you left his presence.
George accepted Jesus Christ into his heart at the age of 15 at Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church, and was baptized by Reverend D. D. Denton. He became a lifelong member of Prairie Like, where he attended Sunday School, Worship Service, and served as a past usher. He united in holy matrimony to Jerline Love on February 1, 2006. From this union, no children were born, but with George's two sons and one daughter and Jerline's three boys and four girls from a previous relationship, they became a blended family of twelve.
George was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-Theotis Hall; sisters-Clara Mae Haney, Doris McHenry, and Georgia Cooper, aunts-Annie Mae Crump and Lucille Lowe several uncles, nephews, and
