Eugene “Big Boy” Bailey was born November 3rd, 1956, in McGhee, Arkansas to Maxine Akins & Joe Bailey and passed away in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on July 16th, 2023. Before leaving this world his best fur baby girl name Cautious was with him until the end and passed away afterwards.
Growing up was very hard but to keep Eugene active mentally he discovered a passion for the arts. This start would make Eugene very passionate about reading, fishing, and creating music all of types of genres. Eugene discovered the love of drawing at a very young age and was under the influence of his favorite Uncle McGee whom himself was a very talented artist. Not only he was an artist he also had a gift for fixing things and would work for days until he solved the problem.
During the 1970’s Eugene met a lifelong friend name Gary Wilson, former DJ of KCAT radio during high school. Eugene inspired his friend to compose and play music and they formed a band during that time. Eugene was a proud graduate of Southeast Arkansas College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Around 1977 Eugene left Arkansas to work at Walt Disney World Company in Orlando Florida and took small jobs around rental properties doing maintenance work. During the mid-1980s Eugene relocated back to Arkansas and began working for Tyson.
In 1991 Eugene started working for Scallions Car Wash and in that same year he met his now wife Rose in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and married her in 1998. Eugene and Rose were still married until his passing. During the marriage Eugene gained bonus children since he did not have any biological children of his own. He gained three sons Manuel Bowie of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Bowie of Houston, TX, Robert Walker of Fort Worth, Texas. He gained three daughters Natasha Whitaker which was his favorite child of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Rebecca Marks of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Tracy Bowie who has went to glory in 2018.
During his spare time Eugene enjoyed fishing and learning about life and the world. Eugene had sisters named Mary Ann Bailey, Alice Dillards and brothers Robert Bailey, Virgil Ward, and Dewayne Bailey. Eugene cherished a special niece named Mary Smith, a very special nephew Jody Clay, and a very special friend Gary Wilson. And a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
