Born February 14, 1963 in Crandall, TX, to Mayfield and Nadine Battles, Doris was no stranger to hard work and close-knit family. Doris, one-half of the youngest of Mayfield and Nadine's children, was always a loving and warm individual.
After graduating from David Starr Jordan High School, in Los Angeles, CA, Doris fell in love with being a mother. Eventually, marrying Steven Orange, Sr.and the two relocated from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, NV.
Doris spent her time working in and outside the home, loving and raising her children, and instilling love and faith in God in them.
Before and after her first diagnosis with cancer in 2006, she made it a priority to spend time with family as much as possible. Traveling regularly to and from Nevada to California, she never missed an opportunity to spend time with family.
Doris valued the time spent with her loved ones and could always be found singing praises to the Lord.
At the age of 61, after battling cancer three times prior, cancer had returned. And after battling colon cancer for three years, the Lord called Doris home on October 5, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones.
Doris is preceded in death by her mother, father, a brother and husband. Doris leaves behind her nine siblings, Earl, Robert, Richard, Ronald, and Donald Battles, Helen Jackson, Essie Burke, Mary Lewis Warren, and Diane Parks. She leaves her five children, Quiana Call, Christopher Coleman, Steven Orange Jr., Kimberly Orange, and Alexia Rodgers. Her grandchildren, Nevaeh Call, Riley Coleman, Chosen Coleman, N'Yelli Brown, Chyna Lambert and Nalani Ste-vens, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
