Donald Hamp West was born on March 1, 1965, to Pearl and Thelton Smith and his (Biological Father) Johnny Windom.
Donald was employed at CB Masonry Construction for 27 years as a brick masonry. He was a jack of all trades. He was a welder, carpenter, and mechanic. There was not a task that he was not capable of doing or finding out how to. If he didn’t know how to complete a task, you better believe that by the end of the day, he had found out.
Donald enjoyed spending time with his twin, Ronald. We would always hear them arguing, but we knew it was all in love. It all showed toward the end of his illness. Ronald catered to Donald’s every need. Donald enjoyed waking up on Saturday mornings listening to the Blues, working, laughing, smoking his “left-handed cigarettes,” and wearing his favorite hat, and cruising through the city with that “gangster lean” as we used to call it. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends and loved flirting with the ladies. He was a very kind-hearted person. He would help anyone that was in need. He loved taking care of his family.
Donald was indeed a fighter. He fought a good fight until the end of his call home.On June 9, 2023, at 6:45 pm, Donald’s departure was at hand. He was 58.
