      Life, Legacy, and Love 

Cleveland X. Johnson, III was born Saturday, January 7, 1967,in Little Rock, Arkansas to Icey Mae Williams and the late Cleveland Johnson Jr. CJ transitioned from this earthly world to his heavenly home on Monday, May 1, 2023.

Cleveland accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age in Hot Springs, Arkansas. 

Cleveland graduated high school in 1987. Cleveland went on to attend Pines Vo-Tech receiving a trade as an electrician. He also received several certifications in business success. Cleveland loved studying and was self-taught in many areas of master skill sets such as building and repairing houses as well as repairing cars. CJ was a hard worker and was known as a “Jack of All Trades”.  Cleveland loved working and utilizing his skill sets as a Hotel Manager, HVAC Electrician, Roofer, Cabinet Maker, Mechanic, Plumber, and many more trades. CJ really loved working at The Light House, his final place of employment. 

Cleveland Johnson was a family man who lived life beyond measure.  He was introduced to boxing and developed a love for it at an early age.  While competing in Golden Glove boxing tournaments, he was undefeated at the local Boys Club at Townsend Park.  CJ loved fishing, cooking, playing pool, dominoes, spending time with his children, hanging out with his cousins and having long conversations with mother. He loved a good joke and a smile. He was a generous man and would render assistance unselfishly to anyone in need. 

He is preceded in death by his father− Cleveland Johnson Jr., Grandmothers− Eva Lee Mays-Jones and Beauty Mae Johnson; Grandfathers− Otis Williams Sr. and Cleveland Johnson Sr.; Brother– Dave “Super Dave” Johnson; Uncles− Lonnie Johnson Sr., David Johnson, Theotis Williams, Arthur Arnold Sr., Lorenzo Smith; Aunts− Georgia Mae Johnson, Alberta Johnson, and Betty Sue Goodloe

Cleveland leaves to cherish his memory and legacy: mother− Icey Mae (Williams) Arnold; daughters− XaQilya Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas and Xandria Johnson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; son− Xavier Cleveland Johnson of Arlington, Texas; four bonus daughters and two bonus sons; Sisters− Sandra Arnold, Anzie Johnson-Cal, Tanzy Johnson-Salaam all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; brothers− Dominique Azeez(Agwenda), Bryan Johnson and Cleveland Johnson all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Michael Arnold of Denver, Colorado; grandson− Xaiden Johnson, and four bonus grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends; five great-nieces and four great-nephews whom he loved dearly, and a special companion−Lolita Anderson.
