Brother Clarence Burnett, Sr. was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on April 16, 1935 to the late William Burnett, Sr. and Lettie Burnett. He accepted Christ at a young age and united with St. John Baptist Church in Lonoke, Arkansas.
Upon moving to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Bro. Burnett started attending St. Andrew African Methodist Episcopal Church. He joined St. Andrew in the sixties and remained an active member until his transition.
In addition to his late father and mother, he is also preceded in death by three brothers- William Burnett, Jr., Julius Burnett and Jean Burnett and three sisters- Georgia Crutchfield, Sue Mae Thomas and Eliza Jane Ashley.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of sixty-five years Loretta Strickland Burnett. To this union, there were four sons – Alfred L. (Phyllis) Clark of Mililani, Hawaii, Clarence Burnett, Jr. and Jeffrey (Betty) Burnett of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Kavin (Jessica) Burnett of New Bern, North Carolina; two daughters - Carolyn Jackson and Tammy Burnett of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
