On Monday, April 18, 2022, God called home a beautiful soul, Chaneikia “Booh” La’Shawn Smith. Chaneikia was born August 4, 1980, in Texarkana, Texas to Reece and JoAnn Nelson.
Chaneikia accepted Christ at a young age under the leadership of Pastor David O. Jones at Kingdom Builders Outreach Ministry. Later joining Fellowship Full Gospel Ministry in LaFayette, Louisiana in 2020 with Pastor Charles Banks, Sr.
Chaneikia attended Southeast Arkansas College while in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She later attended Aveda Institute Cosmetology School in LaFayette, Louisiana.
Chaneikia is known by her family and friends as “Booh”. She had a warm and caring heart, and nothing was more important than her family. Chaneikia was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and a devoted friend. You had to know her to lover her. Chaneikia brought great joy and laughter to the hearts she touched. Chaneikia never forgot a special day and always showed unconditional love.
Chaneikia is preceded in death by her parents-Reece Nelson and JoAnn Nelson: a daughter-Thera Tyshae White; and two uncles –Reuben Johnson and Zannie Thomas Brewer, Jr.
Chaneikia leaves to cherish two loving children: a daughter-Destanie Cross; and a son-Daylan Franklin; one brother-Vertis White of Texarkana, Texas; four sisters-Samantha Criss(Tony) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Donna Oliver of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Barbara Pryor of Little Rock, Arkansas and Patricia Pryor of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two grandchildren-Kynslee Freeman and Kaiden Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
