Beverly Powell

Beverly L. Childress Powell, born on January 3, 1954, to Edward G. Childress, Sr. and the late Addie Magsby Childress, was called to rest on March 3, 2025. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warm heart and loving spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Beverly was married in holy matrimony to Henry L. Powell on May 4, 1990 in Memphis, Tennessee, no children were born to this union. Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband Henry L. Powell on December 7, 2004.

Beverly received her education in the Pine Bluff School District.

Beverly was a substitute teacher in the Pine Bluff School District many years ago. She also loved to take long shopping trips to Walmart, Food Smart, Super 1 Foods and Walgreens where she would spend hours checking out the old and new products.

Beverly was preceded in death by her cherished mother, Addie Bagsby Childress Perrymon, who completed her earthly assignment on November 18, 2016.

She is lovely remembered by her devoted father, Edward G. Childress, Sr. from Memphis, Tennessee, and by her sisters and brothers: Sadie Childress Gibson (Samuel) of Pine Bluff, AR, Faye Childress Echols (LoRenzo), Angela Childress, both from Memphis, Tennessee,

Beverly was also the beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her deeply. Her love, kindness and infectious smile will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

May she rest in peace, forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
